Our school’s Multicultural Liaison Officer (MLO) supports newcomer students and families with settlement services, navigating the school system, language interpretation, and more.

The Multicultural Liaison Officer (MLO) program provides support in multiple languages for students and families who are newcomers and refugees. The Multicultural Liaison Officer works with school staff to welcome newcomer families and connect them with important services, resources, and supports within our school and in the local community.

Tahani Noaman is the Multicultural Liaison Officer at our school. Tahani speaks English, Arabic, French and can also help you access support in other languages.

Tahani is here to support families with:

  • Settlement services
  • Navigating the school system
  • Language and cultural interpretation
  • Accessing community services
  • Filling out school forms
  • Parent-teacher interviews
  • Getting involved at school, and more!

Bio:

MLO Tahani Noaman

Tahani has been with OCISO since 2021.Tahani loves helping students and parents navigate the education system.

Before joining OCISO, Tahani worked as a Program assistant - Multicultural senior Project at Pinecrest Community Health Centre for 2 years. Tahani has a Phd in English Language and Literature from France, and a diploma in Community Worker from Canada.

In their free time, Tahani enjoys reading, swimming, and shopping. Tahani believes that “success is best when it's shared.”
